This system’s hurting everyone,
what have we done?
Would it really be better were I born a son?
Still don’t fit I’m stuck in the middle,
Life’s a riddle that no one’s meant to get.

You’re searching for the antidote,
far and wide,
You’ll never find it it’s buried way deep inside,
With the lessons you learned from your mother,
Come on brother this thing’s not over yet.
Get up, get out, we’re tearing up the disco,
It’s time for love stop flexing, let it go.
Who do you think you’re talking to?
Make some room!
None of this is for you, but I don’t think that’s news,
Check yourself don’t forget where you come from,
Jump the fence ‘cause us girls have much more fun.

Still searching for the antidote we’ve got to try,
Take a peek through my eyes, see this thing from both sides
I tried your flavour, return the favour,
Exchange notes later, divergence overdone.
Get up, get out, we’re taking over this town,
It’s time for love, let’s burn this mother down.
Who do you think you’re talking to?
Make some room!
None of this is for you, but I don’t think that’s news,
Check yourself don’t forget where you come from,
Jump the fence ‘cause us girls have much more fun.
Get up, Get out, we’re tearing up the disco,
It’s time for love, stop flexing let it go.
So glad this band has come on my radar. If this album had come out in '94/95 it would be considered a classic, a la Trashed or Leche Con Carne. Also the vid for Breakfast at Pamela's is straight-out genius. LukeSpurs
'Blood Fortune' is everything I was hoping Aanthems first LP would be, and more. It's got a diamond hard edge, but still brims with the warm heartedness both Ryan and Geoff are known for. The very definition of diverse, this album offers something for everyone: hardcore sensibilities, melodic turns, and some of the most singalong-able choruses/gang chants ever. It's been a banner year for Vancouver punk, but this has easily been my most spun record since it's time of release. thewreckedneck
A compilation of rollicking cuts from this Australian post-punk band that plays like a hybrid of the Velvets and the Stooges. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 3, 2017
